Each student, 2 mins. Who are you, where are you from, what do you want to get out of today and where you want to go with your career.

5+15 minute presentation, part 1

Five students present a 5-minute summary of research, focussing on the main contributions and methods of their research. There will then be a 15-minute discussion with faculty for each student. Students will use their own machines for visual presentation that should be set up during the previous student’s discussion period to minimize delay.

Throughout the conference, you are going to have lots of opportunities to meet new people and talk about your work. We are going to give you some practice giving a brief summary of your research that will help you have productive conversations as you network.

Ph.D. trajectory and Career opportunities

We will spend some time talking about what to expect in the remainder of your Ph.D. career and then how to plan for the future. The faculty may not represent the full spectrum of career possibilities, but we can certainly talk about research career trajectories.
